4 Channel Power Optical Meter High Precision Optical Test Equipment
Bare-fiber jig is optional for U8204 four-channel optical power meter, so the test is more convenient and fast. The large-size high-definition LCD screen displays the measurement parameters, and the panel keys can directly set the parameters, making the operation very simple. The power meter adopts a new data acquisition and processing method, which has a larger power measuring range, faster response speed and higher stability.
User interface description
1.Display screen
The LCD displays the real-time optical power measurement, working wavelength, power reference value, and average time value of the two channels.
2.key
The control operation and parameter setting of the power meter instrument are executed by pressing the button.
3.Optical input channel
Laser signal input interface, adapter can choose standard FC/PC or FC/APC adapter connection, specified by the customer when purchasing the product.

How do you measure optical power?
The NIST standard for all power measurements is an ECPR, or electrically calibrated pyroelectric radiometer, which measures optical power by comparing the heating power of the light to the well-known heating power of a resistor. Calibration is done at 850, 1300 and 1550 nm.
What is good dBm for fiber?
Positive dBm means power greater than 1mw and negative means less than 1mw. A good laser source for a singlemode link will have a power output of ~ +3 to +6 dBm - 2-4mw - coupled into the fiber. A VCSEL for multimode links should have a power around 0dBm - 1mw.
